Tip Tuesday: Don’t Forget To Follow Up
Don’t Forget to Follow Up!
Follow-up appointments are crucial to patient care, so we’ve gathered all the details and tips for completing successful follow-up appointments for your patients!
Here’s what should happen in a follow-up appointment:
- Adults should be seen every four to eight weeks, as determined by the provider.
- The Sleep and Breathing Questionnaire must be completed at every follow-up appointment.
- The Appliance Feedback Form must be completed at every follow-up appointment.
- Monitor progress and compliance.
- Review positive changes with the patient based on what you are observing and what they are reporting on the Sleep and Breathing Questionnaire.
- Complete progress photographs should be taken every six months. However, if you see changes happening, it is a good idea to take photographs more frequently. It is not necessary to take all the photographs, just those that show the changes taking place. Be sure to show the patient the changes you are seeing in the photographs.
- A New Home Sleep Test should be performed every six months.

Bring questions on cases you want to review, get insight from Dr. Jon Caulfield, and share ideas with peers. During this interactive webinar, we will also open the floor to mid-treatment questions on how to move forward. We will go over helpful tricks and tips on how to progress patients who are in the middle of being treated with the DNA or mRNA appliances. All doctors that would like to present must have a case on hand and be ready to share their screen with the AI report. We will review five to 10 cases based on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please email Whitney at wreese@vivoslife.com if you would like to present a case.
