Marylou Parra on Making Patients Happy
Parra works closely with Dr. Frawley, a general dentist and the owner of Beverly Hills Dentistry. “We’ve been doing Vivos treatment for about the last two and a half years,” shared Parra. “So initially, when Dr. Frawley first came, he went to some seminar, and so he came back like, ‘Vivos is great, we love this, we’re gonna do this, this is amazing.’ He actually took me with him to Denver for training, and once I saw what the therapy was about, I was just on board.”
Parra described her patients and the improvement she’s seen in their lives throughout their treatment. Before, many patients complained of exhaustion and daytime fatigue, despite sleeping the recommended amount. They don’t realize that sleeping is only effective if your body can rest and repair itself. Individuals with sleep apnea are in a constant state of fight or flight, which disrupts their sleep and can lead to high blood pressure, moodiness, reduced blood oxygen saturation, mental fogginess, and more.
“I see patients that come in. They tell me, ‘Marylou, I sleep, like, 10 hours, and I feel like I slept four.’ And I’m like, ‘Just trust me you’re gonna be, do great with this appliance.’ They come back a week after delivery, and they’re like, ‘Marylou, I slept six hours, and I feel like I slept 10.’”
“I think the most exciting thing about Vivos for me is the fact that we are changing lives. We are helping save lives. It’s so rewarding to me.”
Hi, I’m Marylou, and I work with Dr. Frawley. We work at Beverly Hills Dentistry and the Center for Sleep Health and Wellness. Dr. Frawley has been working with patients, uh, for airway and breathing therapy for years, and we’ve been doing Vivos treatment for about the last two and a half years. So initially, when Dr. Frawley first came, he went to some seminar, and so he came back like Vivos is great, we love this, we’re gonna do this, this is amazing. And we’re like, oh my god, what is this like what is this new, you know, appliance or we had no clue what it was going to be like. So, uh, he actually took me with him to Denver to the block trainings and once I saw, uh, what the therapy was about and how it could actually not necessarily be a band-aid for sleep apnea, like such as like a typical appliances. This could actually be a solution, it. I was just on board. It’s really crazy because an exciting, crazy for me because I see patients that come in, they get their, you know, they tell me, Marylou, I sleep like 10 hours, and I feel like I slept four. And I’m like just trust me you’re gonna be, do great with this appliance. They come back a week after delivery, and they’re like Marylou, I slept six hours, and I feel like I slept 10. I think the most exciting thing about Vivos for me is the fact that we are changing lives. We are helping save lives potentially. Um, I see my patients come in, even our coworkers that, you know, needed the therapy that were like no, I’m good because everyone thinks that they’re good because all this happens subconsciously when they’re asleep. And then when they actually are in treatment, and they start feeling better, I see them walking into the office, and they’re all bright. Or like my patients are on a whole other, you know, energy level and they physically they start looking better and to know that we had something to do with enhancing their quality of life and potentially extending the length of their life. It, it’s so, it’s rewarding to me. It’s just, uh, I’m so passionate about it because of all that.
