Paul Nguyen, MD
Dr. Paul Nguyen is a board-certified cardiologist. He completed his cardiology fellowship at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. From there, he attended the prestigious Mid-America Heart Institution in Kansas City and received his fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology (heart rhythm disorders).
Dr. Nguyen’s passion for human service is highlighted by his compassion for patient care, belief in Women’s Health, commitment to clinical research in the areas of “Health Status Outcomes”,
and relentless support of medical and clinical education. In 2008, Dr. Nguyen founded Elite Cardiology, LLC, where he currently practices cardiovascular medicine. He is on staff at St Joseph’s Hospital (Elgin), Sherman Hospital (Elgin) and Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital (DeKalb) where he brings technology, innovation and research to optimize patient care. In 2012, Dr. Nguyen founded Sudden Cardiac-death Awareness Research Foundation (S.C.A.R.F.), a non-profit organization in response to an overwhelming need for public education and awareness of sudden cardiac arrest/death. Dr. Nguyen also serves as the Director of Innovation for a leading telehealth firm. He has been lecturing on the use of remote patient monitoring for optimizing patient care and has successfully integrated telemedicine as a routine part of cardiology services.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Nguyen created and mobilized a task force with a helpline to empower our communities. He is a frontline responder, taking care of patients while overseeing all S.C.A.R.F. volunteers and ambassadors working on the taskforce.
